Making trauma care resources accessible to those who need them most

Ukraine is living through one of the most severe humanitarian and psychological crises of our time. Millions of people — soldiers and civilians alike — are carrying wounds that will shape individuals, families, and communities for generations. Pastors are counseling traumatized congregations without training. Chaplains are sitting with dying soldiers without resources. Teachers are watching children carry invisible wounds without knowing how to help. The need for reliable, accessible trauma care resources has never been greater — and the people who need them most often have no idea where to look.

Ukraine Trauma Care Hub is a collaborative online resource platform dedicated to supporting trauma care practitioners, faith leaders, educators, military chaplains, and international partners committed to holistic and sustainable trauma care in Ukraine. The hub organizes and makes available resources — with a goal of offering content in English and Ukrainian — bringing together trusted knowledge and connections in one accessible place.

Ukrainian-American researcher, theologian, leadership specialist, and spiritual director based in Lake Stevens, Washington. Dr. Negrov leads the Ukraine Trauma Care Hub from vision through development, providing both strategic direction and practical oversight. He travels regularly to Ukraine during the war, ensuring that this work remains grounded in the real and urgent needs he encounters firsthand. Dr. Negrov collaborates with scholars and trauma care practitioners across diverse disciplines and international contexts.

Dr. Mark R. Elliott, a retired professor of history based in Wilmore, Kentucky, has long been engaged in Ukraine through sustained involvement in nonprofit and Christian initiatives. Drawing on several decades of scholarship on Christianity in Eastern Europe, along with a sustained examination of the consequences of World War II and its aftermath, he brings a deeply informed historical perspective to the challenges facing Ukraine. His initiative, scholarly insight, and global network of relationships across multiple continents have been foundational in shaping the vision and development of the Ukraine Trauma Care Hub. Dr. Elliott serves as Senior Advisor and Co-Founder, offering seasoned guidance and strategic counsel to its ongoing work.

Our Distinctive Emphasis

Christian faith-based approaches at the center — with an open and inclusive scope

While Ukraine Trauma Care Hub serves a diverse professional and ministry audience, the hub gives particular attention to Christian faith-based approaches to trauma care — resources, organizations, and practitioners that integrate psychological expertise with Christian theological and spiritual foundations. While Christian in origin, grounding, and scope, the hub recognizes the value of broader professional and secular resources where they are relevant. At the same time, the Christian faith-based dimension of trauma care in Ukraine remains the defining emphasis and distinctive contribution of this project. While the Ukraine Trauma Care Hub director and senior advisor are Protestant, the project will encourage Eastern Orthodox and Catholic contributions and participation.

The hub does not evaluate, rate, rank, or endorse any resource, organization, practitioner, or program. Inclusion does not constitute a recommendation or judgment of quality. All content is offered as a starting point for further exploration and discernment.

Built through partnership

Resources are identified through active research and through suggestions from organizations, practitioners, and educators. Resources are reviewed through a basic process of verification to the best of our ability. Our goal is generous and wide-ranging inclusion — not selective gatekeeping.

A living platform

As the field develops — new organizations emerge, new research is published — the hub will be updated as new resources are identified. This is not a static website but an evolving, long-term resource for Ukraine.

Practical wisdom and ethical orientation

Beyond directories, the hub will publish selected essays and introductory frameworks from recognized practitioners — to raise the baseline of ethical awareness and practical wisdom across the entire ecosystem of trauma care.
